Interview with Jacqueline Gardner & Giveaway of MUTINY

INTERVIEW WITH JACQUELINE GARDNER

Is there an inspiration behind why you chose writing?

I write because it's a big stress reliever for me.  It's nice to remove myself from reality once in a while, even though some people might argue that I already live in a fantasy world :)

When you were little, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?

I was torn between a doctor and an astronaut.  I settled for a doctor on the U.S. Space Station.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?

The new JK Rowling book, and the next James Bond film!

What are your current literary works?  Any sneak peaks?

I have another YA novel out called Thoughtless and it's FREE on Amazon!  I'm currently working on the sequel to that.  It's called Besotted and it's about a teenage mind-reader who is being hunted by the group of killers she barely escaped from in book one.

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?

This might be a surprise but my hubby, Bono, Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton.  U2 ¨C a band that has an amazing amount of influence and their lyrics speak to me.

Which authors have influence on you most.. how?

The author who started my obsession with books was Roald Dahl.  I love his sense of humor and the way children and teens always prevail despite their circumstances in his books.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

If you've ever wondered what life might be like if you were invincible, here's your chance to find out.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.

Knowing that there are people out there who enjoy my stories.

What's one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?

Never give up, and find yourself a kick-butt critique group.

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world, which would it be?

I honestly have NO idea.  There are ups and downs to anything I would choose.

If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?

Answer me, please!

What is your favorite scene in the book and why do you love it?

If I had to pick one I would say the point in the book where Eric is forced to fight as a mortal.

What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you'd be embarrassed to admit?

Not that I'm admitting it via the internet, but it's possible that me and my little sisters can quote word for word the movie Good Burger.

What is one book everyone should read?

Speak

One food you would never eat?

I love sushi but I don't eat octopus.  Why?  Because since I was really little octopuses have always been my favorite animals/sea creatures.  When I was eight I actually asked my mom if the new bedspread for my room could somehow have pictures of ballerinas and octopuses on it.  No joke :)
