Original Title: Falling for Mr. Wrong
Series: Bencher Family #3
Author: Inara Scott
Publisher: Entangled Indulgence
Release Date: November 11th 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Looking for Mrs. Right...

Single father of three, Ross Bencher, knows the kind of woman he wants: someone predictable, reliable, and safe, who can give his kids the security they deserve. Someone entirely different from high-altitude mountaineer Kelsey. Kelsey bewitches him with her long legs and wild passion and is about as far from his ideal as a woman can get, but try telling that to his body. Or his heart...

Falling for Mr. Wrong...

When Kelsey agreed to fill in as a temporary nanny for her best friend’s agency before a big climbing expedition, she had no idea she’d be working for drop-dead sexy Ross Bencher, a man she can’t seem to keep her hands off. She knows if she wants to bring herself—and her father—back alive from the Himalayan Mountains, she can’t afford second-guessing, attachments, or distractions. But Ross’s blue eyes and strong hands leave her gasping...and questioning everything she’s ever known about love...

A Time for Traditions

- Guest Post by Inara Scott

I like to think I’m a pretty adventurous person. Since college I’ve lived in six states and had…well…an embarrassing number of jobs. I used to lead rock climbing and canoeing trips for a living. I’ve hosted large slumber parties for middle school girls. A few months ago, I got a tattoo.

But when it comes to the holidays, I have no need for adventure. I am all about tradition.

I suspect I’m not the only one out there who is like this. Every year when we decorate the house I put on the same album (John Denver and the Muppets). I make the same pumpkin bread recipe over . . . and over . . . and over again. I am so attached to my decorations that I can’t part with any of them. As a result, my house is overflowing with holiday junk, some of which I purchased at Goodwill when my husband and I were spending our first holiday together in Oregon, far away from our families.

I still have the toilet paper roll crèche that my daughter made in preschool.

My husband and I have been reading The Polar Express to our kids every year since they were old enough to focus on the pictures. They’re thirteen and ten now, but we’re not giving up. We’ll read it to them until they move out. And even then, I might sneak into their houses on Christmas Eve and read it to them while they’re sleeping.

I’m not sure why this time of year evokes this hard-core refusal to experiment. I know some people don’t feel the same way I do. I’ve been urged to try new things at the holidays. But no, I won’t try a mango marinade for my Thanksgiving turkey. Yes, I will make that green bean casserole again.

No, I’m not getting a new stocking, even though the old one has three holes and my name has fallen off.

Yes, I do have to wear that Santa hat every year.

It’s a tradition.

So, are you like me? Does the holiday season evoke a stubborn refusal to try something new, or are you willing to try a new recipe or decorating idea?

  2. I'm pretty bad that I don't cook at all so that's not a big issue for me :) What I need to do is stop being so lazy and put up my tree! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I'm not tied to traditions. After 46 years of married life, and living in New Mexico, California, the Netherlands, Germany, and now Oklahoma, our 'traditions' have had to undergo many transitions. Hubby's family opened gifts on Christmas Day - only after the family breakfast. Mine opened gifts Christmas Eve. At some point in our early marriage, we began attending Christmas Eve service at the base chapel. Now as a pastor, hubby does a Christmas Eve service (& maybe 2 depending on the church we appointed to at the time). Some years, as a family, we were at hubby's parents; some years at mine. And some years, we were on our own; maybe going to friends for Christmas Dinner. Then after our granddaughter was born, our daughter wanted her to have Christmas morning in her own home, so we've gone to daughter's to be there for Santa and gifts Christmas morning. Now that granddaughter is grown, things are changing again.
So, short answer -- new things are ok.
